Final Music Video

Weekly blog :Week 7

Weekly blog :Week 7

This is the last week my partner and I were able to edit as our editing deadline was within the week. With this in mind we started off the week with importing new footage that was recorded over the weekend this was a huge set back since we had to re-edited with the advice in mind that our teacher had given us last week one of which was cutting to the beat in a way it was easier for us to do so since there were more shots for us to cut into our music video, we also kept another advice in mind that we had to get as many different angle so there is not just the same shot and that there is not the same shot for more than 3 seconds, these were just some of many feedback we had to include in our video to make this production successful. As it was the last week and our deadline was approaching it was crucial for my partner and I to take our free time to both contributed on editing the music video to meet the dead line. Within our editing sessions we had to complete the beginning of our music video as we added an introduction to make our music video different and we also delete all of our old shots that laid in the first verse and first chorus, as we had re-filmed shots for the first verse and chorus that met the feedback that sir had given us, we continued this for two days. Once the new shots were completed and in order our last day of editing which was on Wednesday was dedicated to the end of our music video and make sure as a whole that it flowed together. As a whole we both were able to keep to all of our dealine within this prodution and had put in as much effort as we could.

Weekly blog: week 5

Weekly blog: Week 5

In this week my partner and I have continued with the editing of our music video, I had to make sure all lip-synching was correct and in order as well as having to follow our shooting script, because of certain location changes some of the shots we originally planned to be in be a part of or video had to be changed, such as the location we had our narrative based in turned out that we was unable to film in the location we wanted, so on that day we had to improvise on where will look good but can freely film because of this the shots we had to change, when it came to editing me and my partner had to make some re-adjustments with our original idea so that it would make sense, at this point we were running a bit behind on schedule as we planned to have the rest of the week to edit but we already had to plan when to re-film so we can add shots that will link our music video together. My partner and I also realised that we were short on footage which forced us to drag out our clip’s which mad cutting to the beat of the song impossible. Next week my partner and I have decided we will have to reshoot specific shots so that we will be sable to cut to the beat e.g. the narrative shots.

Weekly blog : week 6

Weekly blog : week 6

In this week my partner and I were very busy as we had to book out our week to dedicate our time into editing to successfully meet our deadline, as we had re-filming to do on the
weekend , most of our new footage were of the chorus and beginning of our music video, once we had imported our shots, I went ahead on putting them in order which I found easy since all I had to do is replace the old shots with the new re-filmed one, at this time we already saw an improvement as we were able to cut to the beat and it looked more of a music video since we took the advice from Mr Phillipson last week. Since our constructive feedback was implied to our shots my partner and I, could see it building up to be exactly how we wanted it to look, Sir had explained to us that our artist should come across more aggressive one way is for her directly look at the camera with more attitude as it goes well with the song, because of all this feedback we both had a lot of editing to do more than we did when we first started however I did not find this challenging at all because over the weeks I developed my ability to be able to edited and the tools to use, which allowed us to get our music video done quickly but  efficiently as we took our time to meet the dead line which was on a Thursday that week. The only constrains we both had on meeting the deadline was that we came down to shots that we felt needed re-filming, and had to have the shots in our music video and as it was too close to deadline we both had to come up with a solution fast, so that when we decided to browse YouTube to make our shot look steady as we could this is when we found out that slowing the shot down an blurring it can deceased the look of it looking unsteady.

Week 4 Weekly blog

Week 4: Weekly blog

In this week me and my partner started of with the editing of our music video. To do so we had to use imovie a programme in which is used off of Imac, the first step we had to take to do so was to import our existing footage, at that point we did not have 100% of our footage and planed to finish off the rest by the end of the week. As me and my partner started our editing we noticed that once our song was imported the layout of our song within imovie did not allow us to edited our shots to the song, this making it hard for us to do what we wanted to do, instead of editing to the song in that lesson me and my partner decided to use our time productively by sorting out our shots in terms of what would be potential used for our music video and which ones we would not being using. Due to the problems we had with imovie in the next session of editing me and my partner had got introduced to a new programme called 'Final Cut Express' our teacher gave us a basic run through on how to effectively use this programme for editing our music video, me and my partner both realised this is a much more complicated way of editing, so decided to have a quick look at tools to see what we could do and to get the hang of it. By next lesson after getting introduced to Final Cut Express me and my partner had gotten a pretty good idea of how to use the programme so we went straight ahead on cutting and putting shots into order for the meanwhile until we had got our 100% done which we planed for the weekend then we was to go ahead and cut to the beat of the song.
